Jade Run Sod Farm, Vincentown, New Jersey

Jade Run Sod Farm has been a long standing farming tradition in Southern New Jersey for many years. The Jade Run New Jersey farm was established in 1960, then in 1985 Jade Run expanded into Delaware, and today farms over 700 acres of sod every year.

Sam Alloway, a third generation family member, is corporate President, his son Robert is the New Jersey farm project manager, and his nephew Brian operates the Delaware farm. Jade Run supplies sod to the residential & commercial markets along with the sports turf and golf markets.

In 1998 Jade run was selected by the N.F.L. to supply sod for the natural grass field at Giants Stadium and in 2003 supplied the sod for the National Football League, AFC Championship game.

Today Jade Run remains a certified sod supplier to the N.F.L. and they have expanded their operations supplying sod to the many facets of the sports turf industry.

When Jade Run applied APEX-10 for the first time they were astonished to find their harvest time reduced by a few months. At the end of their second year applying APEX-10 their harvest time was reduced to ten months and has remained that way since.

Sam explains, “Since 1960 we’ve seen only a few seasons with perfect growing conditions and netting down, that would equal the results we now achieve using APEX-10.”

“APEX-10 not only gives us a shorter growing season but, we no longer use netting, we have less stress in the summer, use less water for irrigation, our fertility program has been reduced, and the plant recovers quicker.”
